Population Foundation OfPopulation Foundation of India (PFI) is a national non-government organization at the forefront of policy advocacy and research on population issues in the country. PFI was established in 1970 by a group of socially committed industrialists led by Mr J.R.D. Tata and Dr Bharat Ram. It has kept pace with the times, facing new challenges and changing perspectives through periodic reviews of its objectives, processes and achievements to make itself relevant to the people it serves. PFI collaborates with central, state and local government institutions for effective policy formulation and planning. PFI reaches out to the underserved and the unserved areas in 20 states.
