BSES is worse than a conventional government organization. We are renovating our house, building it straight up. We had a couple of meters for which, we have been paying bills regularly for whatever we have consumed the bills are merely around 200rs..which obviously means the consumption is not that much. BSES has laid some rules which are beyond human logic or reason, frankly enough I think they are just made to extort money out of common people and bully them into coughing up more money as bribe. We have been trying to get a Temporary connection as per the so called rules laid down by BSES but can’t really get any info regarding it on either useless call center numbers or through the employees sitting in the office. Now we have been hassled by numerous meter read officers who have asked for bribe or else threatened us with extreme consequences directly or indirectly..I think BSES criteria for hiring employees is dishonesty. Recently a field engineer by the name of Jatin came to our place unannounced stating the rule of Temporary connection..But instead of doing his job and telling the procedure as to how to apply for it.asked for bribe from my Father and threatened that else the bills would be created again for amounts of 60000rs. there would be a heavy penalty and the meter would be confiscated and demanded 5000rs.. Which we refused now we are being pestered again by field reps who came to our home in a group of four or five when we were not present there and threatened the labors there and took an MCB with them.. Now we are in the process of applying for a temporary connection we just have to submit the documents. Because we don’t want to give away our hard earned money to good for nothing shameless and dishonest employees.. And as a consumer I have the right to question your organization’s Modus operandi..Has an already profitable company like BSES devised new means of earning extra cash through its corrupt employees.?? Are the rules and procedures deliberately made tough to extort money from public.?? Believe me If I am hassled anymore I’ll take this up further. Because I have had enough already.. I hope applying for a temporary connection is hassle free as its the legitimate way. I hope you would take stringent measures to curb incidents like this and strive to make the procedures public friendly.. Yours Truly Jitin Raj
