Some of the leading airlines which take-off from the airport include Air India, GoAir, Jet Airways, etc. The airlines fly from the airport to the major destination of the country like Delhi, Jammu, Srinagar, Chandigarh, etc. Its nearby airport is Kargil which is at a distance of about 220 km.

Due to the problem of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, the airport security is very tight. Passengers are not allowed to come with any materials which could be dangerous. In this airport, the airlines take-off at the morning time because the airport is present in the high mountain area where more fogs occur at the evening time.

Thus, the airport is the well-built airport, equipped all the facilities which occur in any of international airports.
