The Karnataka State Co-operative Apex (KSCABL) was earlier known as the Mysore Provincial Cooperative Bank Limited and was established in 1915 under the auspices of Sri. M.A. Narayan Iyengar, B.A., B.L., who was the Registrar of Co-operative Societies at that time. Originally established to inspect, finance, and supervise co-operative societies in the state of Mysore, today it has managed to carve a niche for itself catering to agriculture finance, retail banking and finance and corporate banking for institutions as well. Today after being the apex co-operative it does what any other nationalised bank in the country does.
