Global Open University is a state university in Dimapur in the northeastern state of Nagaland. It was established as a state university in 2006 under the provisions of the Global Open University Act of 2006 by the state of Nagaland. The Chancellor of this university is the Governor of Nagaland. This university was established by the government of Nagaland to expand higher education and opportunities for the people. It is an open university in Nagaland. It offers Distance learning on campus and online courses to its students. The Global Open University is a UGC approved university. It is also recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (UGC) and also by DEC which is the Distance Education Council, New Delhi.
