Guru Nanak Dev University was established in 1969 in Amritsar in Punjab, India. It was established to mark the 500th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is both an affiliating and residential university that was established with the objectives enshrined in the Guru Nanak Dev University Act of 1969. The main campus of the university is spread over 500 km in the west of the city of Amritsar with modern architecture and infrastructural facilities that are provided in the campus for the students of the Guru Nanak Dev University. The Guru Nanak Dev University is affiliated to UGC and is accredited by NAAC and NAAC has accredited the university at the “Five Star Level”.
