When selfless men touch any aspect of life it blooms into a huge venture touching thousands of hearts making it an enormous movement. Thus were laid the foundation stones for the progress of HIHT University were laid by H.H. Swami Rama in 1989. With the aid of many kind hearts and kinder hands, this small clinic expanded into a 200 bed hospital and later the college of medicine was initiated in 1994. This was recognized by the Medical Council of India later in 1995. The first batch of graduates was awarded with bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery by 2000.

Ever since the university and hospital has been growing into a multi-facility structure with the competence to teach, research and serve thousands of individuals in varied domains of medicine. This meant the initiation of post graduate programs for the said specialties in 2001 which were approved by the Medical Council of India in 2004. The mammoth infrastructure occupies over to hundred acres of land in the foot hills of Himalayas with a resident population of thousands of students, researchers and volunteers. A fully functional multi-specialty hospital with a seven hundred and fifty bed capacity is a major part of this university serving to patients and providing learning opportunities to those who are dedicated to future service namely the students of HIHT University.
