National Law School of India University or (NLSIU) is a law university that is located in a suburb of Bangalore in the state of Karnataka. This university is one of the best and most prestigious law universities in India. It is ranked number one and many times the best law university in India by many respected publications. The university was established in 1987 by a statute passed by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Karnataka. The Chief Justice of India is the Chancellor of the National Law School of India University.

The university offers both undergraduate and post graduate programs. The university offers the integrated B.A, LL.B course of 5 years at the undergraduate level. At the post graduate level the university offers many programs like LL.M, M.Phil, LL.D and PhD. The university also offers distance learning programs.
The university has a very large library with a large collection of law books for the use of the students and the staff at the university. There is also emphasis on the research at the university. There is a Student Bar Association which manages all student activities at the university. There are student debates, moot courts and moot court competitions held at the university.
