Akshardham is, also known as Swaminarayan Akshardham, a Hindu temple in Delhi. Pramukh Swami Maharaj developed this traditional architectural spiritual building on the banks of River Yamuna, adjacent to the 2010 Commonwealth Games village. Entry into the Swaminarayan Akshardham Complex is Free. There is Entry to the Mandir and Gardens which is also free. It is well connected by all weather roads. Its design is in accordance with the Sthapatya Shastra, an ancient vedic text of architectural styles. The entire construction has done with Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble, a type of white or blue-grey marble. Nowhere there has any support from steel or concrete been used. The magnificent shrine consists of 234 lavishly engraved pillars, 20,000 murtis, nine domes, and statues of Hindu’s Sadhus, Acharyas and Devotees.
