BSES Delhi is the major private sector power utility company. BSES stands for Bombay Suburban Electric Supply. It is the largest private sector energy enterprise under the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, one of the largest conglomerates in India. Anil Dhirubhai Ambani is the head of the company. Its headquarters is situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Basically, the DVB (Delhi Vidyut Board) was unbundled into six successor companies on 1 July 2002. These enterprises are: DPCL (Delhi Power Supply Company Limited), DTL (Delhi Transco Limited), IPGCL (Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited), BRPL (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited), BYPL (BSES Yamuna Power Limited), NDPL (North Delhi Power Limited).

Of them, BSES becomes the single consumer electricity distributor in the suburbs of Mumbai. It generates, transmits and distributes power in the parts of Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Maharashtra. It also started power distribution in Delhi from July 2002 after being privatised. About 28.34 lakh customers i.e., two thirds of Delhi population consume BSES electricity.

BYPL distributes power across Central and East areas including Paharganj, Karkardooma, Krishna Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Chandni Chowk, Daryaganj, Patel Nagar, Shankar Road, G T Road, Nand Nagri, Karawal Nagar, Mayur Vihar and Yamuna Vihar.

BSES Delhi provides multiple bill payment options. Electricity Bill can be paid by Credit/Debit, Net Banking or at nearby counter. Individuals can use any valid Visa, Mastercard, Diners or Amex Credit Card, or pay through your Net Banking account with Axis Bank, PNB (Punjab National Bank), OBC, Citibank, IDBI Bank, SBI.

There are consumer grievance redressal centres across 33 divisional offices. At these customer centres, issues are resolved between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
